ABOUT

Jennifer Tsai is a nationally-recognized Emergency Medicine physician, speaker, writer, educator, and advocate seeking to advance medical and climate justice across health systems. She has a Masters of Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, a BA in Ethnic Studies and Human Biology from Brown University, and completed her residency training at Yale New Haven Health. She currently teaches medical students as a faculty member of the Joint Medical Program (JMP) between UCSF and the UC Berkeley School of Public Health.

 

Her essays and research has been published in The New England Journal of Medicine, The Washington Post, The Lancet, Scientific American, The Journal of the American Medical Association, and more. She has been interviewed for pieces in The New York Times, The Intercept, STATNews, among other outlets, and her writing has been recognized as notable works of literary nonfiction in The Best American Science and Nature Writing.

 

Her research focuses on the intersection of race, inequity, trauma-informed care, and medicine. She has been recognized for her advocacy and work as a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree in healthcare, a STATNews Wunderkind, and a recipient of the 40 Under 40 Leaders in Health Award, among other accolades, including invitation to The White House Office of Public Engagement Leaders in Health Equity Roundtable Series.
